DOUBLED
JOHN THORN, an experienced CIA officer, is assigned to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as the Chief of Station (COS). However, the station hasn’t been providing meaningful intelligence, and Thorn is ordered to make it productive. The only way to do that is to recruit new spies, so he starts his mission by mentoring his case officers on the art of recruiting spies.
Some of his officers successfully recruit new spies but there is a serious leak somewhere within the Agency and the new operations are compromised. Before the leaks can be stopped, lives are lost and intelligence rendered useless. Some operations include the use of special military units that operates covertly with the best military men in the world. It takes all of John’s talent and concentration to discover the cause of his reversals and once he does, he acts with resolve to correct the situation. Doubled puts on display real CIA techniques in the many phases of the spy world.
The book can also be purchased on Amazon and Bookstore 1 in Sarasota, FL.

Born in Chicago and attended elementary and high school there. Went to the University of Nebraska on a football scholarship but injuries ended his playing days after the first year. After a stint in the military, he enrolled in and became an honor student at the U of Arizona. At U of A, he was President of the business fraternity, Delta Sigma Pi and a member of the international honor society for accountants, Beta Alpha Psi. Inspired by JFK’s presidency, after graduation in 1965 he turned down more lucrative offers and joined the CIA. But he did know the CIA was staffed by smart, conscientious hard-working men and women. He spent 27 years with the CIA, specializing in the Middle East and living in that part of the world for 20 years. He was the CIA chief in three different Arab Capitals. In Washington, he was in charge of all operations in the entire Arab World. He speaks Turkish, Arabic and French. He was eligible for early retirement at age 50 and decided to take it. He started a business and was the CEO of Global Enterprises International, Inc., with offices in Cairo, Egypt, Potomac, Maryland, Istanbul, Turkey and Erbil, Iraq.
